2011 Jaguar XKR 75

Jaguar has announced the debut of a hotted-up version of the XKR coupe celebrating the British car maker's 75th anniversary will make its world debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed on July 2.

Not to be confused with the Australia-bound XKR 75th Anniversary Edition, the XKR 75 features some subtle performance and cosmetic enhancements and will be built in a limited run of 75 cars that will be available only in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, The Netherlands and Belgium.

Jaguar engineers massaged the XKR's 5.0-litre supercharged engine to produce 396 kW (530 bhp) and 655Nm of torque, an increase of 15 kW and 30 Nm respectively over the standard model. The British company says that the XKR 75's 0-96 km/h acceleration time is reduced from 4.6 to 4.4 seconds, while top speed is electronically limited to 280 km/h.

The company also revised the XKR 75's suspension with stiffer springs, dropped the ride height by 15mm and re-tuned the Adaptive Dynamics damper control software and the Active Differential Control. A more sonorous sport exhaust system rounds off the performance upgrades.

Other changes include a new aerodynamic body kit with a front splitter, side sills extensions, a rear diffuser and larger rear spoiler, while the coupe also gets red brake callipers and 20-inch Vortex forged lightweight alloy wheels. The XKR 75 will be offered in a new Stratus Grey finish while owners will have the option to apply a unique body graphic that runs from the front bumper to the rear haunches.

Finally, the XKR 75's interior is finished in Charcoal with ivory stitch and features a piano black finish to the facia and centre console and a Jet suedecloth headlining.

In the UK, the new Jag which will be available to order from July 2010 with pricing set at £85,500 OTR. First customer deliveries will commence during October.

2011 Aston Martin DB9

2011 Aston Martin DB9

The 2011 Aston Martin DB9 has received a mid-life update consisting of various styling, engineering and equipment enhancements including a new Adaptive Damping System introduced across the coupe and volante (convertible) range.

It's hard to improve the looks on such a gorgeous car so only subtle styling changes can be found on the face-lifted DB9's appearance - a new front bumper, bright finish radiator grille and a re-shaped lower intake featuring bright hexagonal mesh. New headlight bezels, re-styled sills, silver brake calipers, 20-spoke diamond turned alloy wheels and clear rear light lenses complete the external updates.

2011 Aston Martin DB9

The 6.0-litre V12 engine remains unchanged and still develops 351 kW (470 bhp) of power and 599 Nm of torque. Mated to a choice of six-speed 'Touchtronic' paddle-shift automatic or six-speed H-pattern manual transmissions, the DB9 can hit 100 km/h in under five seconds and reach a top speed of over 300 km/h.

For the MY2011, Aston Martin's Adaptive Damping System (ADS), which offers enhanced ride comfort together with sharper handling when switched to Sport mode, has made its way into the DB9 range. A new tyre pressure monitoring system, a revised Bluetooth microphone system and the addition of a new Double Apex alloy finish trim and Bang & Olufsen hi-fi options broaden the DB9's specification.

"The DB9 is the quintessential sporting grand tourer and offers an unrivalled combination of driver involvement, character, luxury and refinement. This car combines our unique Aston Martin character with an uncompromised design philosophy, craftsmanship and trademark Aston Martin performance ability." said Dr Ulrich Bez, Aston Martin's Chief Executive.
