Pics Galore: Audi R8 5.2 V10
December 10th 2008 22:15
One of the world's most desirable cars, the Audi R8, now possesses even more drool-factor than ever before with the imminent launch of a barnstorming V10 version that develops a staggering 386 kW of power and 530 Nm of torque.
The Audi R8 5.2 FSI V10 quattro dispatches the benchmark 0-100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds - half a second quicker than the V8 version - and reaches a top speed of 316 km/h. The Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 derived V10 engine revs to a stratospheric 8,700 rpm and is guaranteed to offer one of the sweetest soundtracks which combines growling bass tones with powerful high notes.
Aesthetically speaking, the V10 is distinguished from its V8 brother in the form of a redesigned front and rear bumper, the latter housing a pair of oval exhausts, 10-spoke Y design 19-inch wheels, 'flared' sideblades to feed extra oxygen to the monstrous V10 mill and LEDs for the high beam, low beam, daytime running lights, and turn signals. A discreet 'V10' badge can be found just behind the front wheel arches.
