Ford Territory SR2


Ford Australia will debut the limited edition Territory SR2 at this year's Australian International Motor Show which starts on Thursday (Oct. 9).

This new limited edition model follows on from the successful SR versions over the past three years and is based on the Territory TX plus the availability of both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations. Adding some $5645 worth of extra value including a rear DVD system and a list of bonus features including an Alpine DVD system for rear seat passengers with a 10.2-inch screen, remote control and two sets of wireless headphones at no additional cost, prices start from $37,990 for the rear-drive variant and $42,990 for the AWD.

Other special features of the SR2 package includes a unique sports leather trim pack featuring partial leather seat trim, leather wrapped steering wheel, leather wrapped gearshift and handbrake cover, and colour-matched centre console lid and door trims, all in a Warm Charcoal finish.

Cruise control is also fitted as standard equipment, incorporating easy-to-use steering wheel-mounted buttons, to complete the SR2 package.

The exterior of the Territory SR2 is enhanced with seven-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels, a unique 'SR2' badge and a full body colour pack, including bumpers and door cladding.

It will also be available in two new exterior paint colours – Seduce and Sensation – which were previously reserved for the premium Territory Ghia, Turbo and Ghia Turbo models.

The Territory SR2 will be on display at the Ford stand from October 9.

Ford FPV F6X 270

The Ford Performance Vehicles (FPV) brand has been extended into new markets with the release of the Ford Territory based F6X 270 SUV.

Priced at $75,000, the F6X boasts a 4.0-litre six-cylinder engine developing 270 kW and 550 Nm of torque - 25 kW and 70 Nm more than the Territory Turbo which currently retails for $53,990.

Featuring a ZF 6-speed auto transmission with Sequential Sports shift, the F6X has a factory claimed time of 5.9 seconds for the 0-100km/h dash which is just over half a second slower than the likes of Mercedes-Benz ML 63 AMG and Porsche Cayenne Turbo at a fraction of the cost. The F6X also comes equipped with six-piston front Brembo brakes, a firmer suspension tune, and recalibrated ABS and traction control.

Exterior upgrades over the donor car include a new mesh grille and F6X 270 badges while the interior boasts two-tone leather trim FPV logos and scuff plates, a set of alloy pedals, a unique build plate and a reverse-safety camera.

The F6X goes on sale from February 29 at selected Ford dealers around the country.
