Caterham R500 Superlight
April 11th 2008 11:11
Here's the first glimpse of the new ultralight lightweight Caterham R500 Superlight from the British niche sports car maker.
These images shows off the final design of the upcoming roadster which will be powered by a 2.0-litre Ford Duratec four-cylinder engine that develops 194 kW (263 hp) and a redline in excess of 8,500rpm. Drive is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual or six-speed sequential box and is controlled with a new launch control system.
Performance specs remains hush-hush for the time being, but we think that neck-snapping acceleration is to be expected.
