Toyota Corolla is top dog for 1st quarter 2008
April 4th 2008 04:45
The Toyota Corolla has out-sold 'Australia's favourite car' - the Holden Commodore - by more than 500 units in the first quarter (Jan 1 - March 31) of 2008.
In the first three months of 2008, Toyota sold a total of 12,002 Corollas - up 900 from the same time last year - to topple the Holden Commodore as the best selling car of the year so far. Toyota's success can be credited to a number of factors including the ever rising cost of petrol, the demise of the large vehicle segment and the lack of a wagon variant for the Commodore.
In the coming months, the new VE Commodore Wagon will be introduced to the market as well as the new Ford FG Falcon range so expect to see the Corolla's reign as the top dog severely tested.

Seriously, not even surprised..
Petrols short...lets make a new Monaro!
Scrap that
We need a new SS.
However, Corolla has always sold extremely well.
