Lamborghini hanging on the wall

Lamborghini Countach on the wall

A US millionaire, Richard Moriarty, has decorated a wall in his new $2 million dollar on Newport Beach with a full-sized 1974 Lamborghini Countach.

Now that's some artwork!

The engine-less - removed and transformed into an 'exotic' coffee table - Lambo was maneuvered into the luxury pad through a skylight by a 70-tonne crane and into the living room before the black and red Countach was mounted onto a wall.

As you can imagine, getting the Lamborghini into the house was no easy task and took about an hour, not to mention the months of planning, but the results speak for themselves and it certainly is the coolest wallpaper we've ever seen!

Nissan GT-R Nurburgring

The all-new Nissan GT-R - affectionately known here as the 'Godzilla' - has cracked the 7min 30sec mark at the famous Nurburgring circuit in Germany with a blistering time of 7min and 29seconds.

Previously, the GT-R lapped the famous racetrack in an impressive time of 7min and 38sec during testing but GT-R chief test driver Tochio Suzuki knew there were more precious seconds to be shaved from that time given the dampness of the track at the time.

So Suzuki returned to the 'ring in mid-April with a JDM-spec base specification car fitted with stock standard tyres and was greeted with a nice, dry track. The GT-R revelled in the near ideal conditions and proceeded to post a stunning time of 7min and 29sec - one of the fastest times for a production car ever!

Kazutoshi Mizuno, Nissan’s chief vehicle engineer said: "At last year’s testing, we were frustrated by the conditions at the Nürburgring, always believing that the GT-R could go under seven minutes 30 seconds,

“Below seven minutes 30 seconds, the GT-R proves it is among the fastest mass-production cars in the world. We set out to build a multi-performance supercar accessible to anyone, anytime and anywhere - I believe the GT-R has delivered that promise.”

WIth Australian prices tipped to be around the $150,000 - $170,000 mark when it eventually goes on sale here, it might not be 'accessible to anyone' but it certainly is a HUGE bargain for a car that boasts Ferrari/Lamborghini/Porsche beating performance.

The Official Nissan Press Release:

GT-R ACHIEVES UNDER 7:30 AT NÜRBURGRING
- GT-R among the fastest ever production road cars at the 'Ring' -

Nissan today announced that its GT-R supercar achieved a lap time at the infamous Nürburgring in Germany of seven minutes and 29 seconds. Recorded on April 16 and 17, the GT-R used was a base specification car and fitted with the standard Japanese market tyres. Driven by GT-R chief test driver Tochio Suzuki, this latest lap time beats the previous fastest time for the GT-R by nine seconds.

The previous best lap time for GT-R of 7:38, also driven by Suzuki, was one of the fastest laps achieved by a production car despite conditions being slightly damp on two corners.

"At last year's testing, we were frustrated by the conditions at the Nürburgring, always believing that the GT-R could go under seven minutes 30 seconds," said Kazutoshi Mizuno, Chief Vehicle Engineer for GT-R. "Below seven minutes 30 seconds, the GT-R proves it is among the fastest mass-production cars in the world. We set out to build a multi-performance supercar accessible to anyone, anytime and anywhere – I believe the GT-R has delivered that promise."

Deliveries of the all-new GT-R began in Japan in December 2007. Sales in the US and Canada start in July and extend to Europe and other markets over the next 12 months.
