Record sales for Mazda in May 2008
June 9th 2008 04:15
Mazda Australia have recorded sales figures of 6,530 new passenger cars, SUVs and commercial vehicles for the month of May 2008 - a result that is up 3% on the previous May record of 6,345 set last year.
The May result continues Mazda's record run in 2008 and takes the company's year-to-date tally to 34,969 - up 8.7 per cent on the same period last year.
A chuffed Mazda Managing Director, Doug Dickson said: "We've launched five new models and updated two more in the last 12 months, and consumers are clearly responding to our invigorated range of passenger cars, SUVs and utilities."
These figures makes Mazda the fourth best selling brand in Australia in 2008, a position they will more than likely to retain when VFACTS sales figures are released later this month.
With the new Mazda2 three-door hatchback and facelifted Mazda RX-8 sports coupe set to go on sale in the second half of this year, it appears more than likely that Mazda will achieve its stated goal of 80,000 sales this calendar year.
