Fiat 500 Abarth Opening Edition

The following clip is a beautifully shot video of the Fiat 500 Abarth 'Opening Edition', a special limited edition from Fiat's performance division, Abarth, featuring a 118 kW 1.4-litre turbo engine.

The Opening Edition is the fastest iteration of the 500 yet and can sprint from 0-100km/h in a zippy 7.4 seconds and onto a top speed of 211 km/h. On top of the performance boost, the special edition Fiat 500 also features a stack of extra goodies such as improved brakes, better handling via special low springs, a new intake and 17-inch alloy wheels painted in white or titanium and wrapped with Pirelli P-Zero Nero performance tyres.

All this equates to a zippy little performance car that will get you from A to B very quickly with a whole heap of fun in between. Read and see more of the Fiat 500 Abarth Opening Edition here.

Fiat 500 Abarth Opening Edition

Fiat's performance division, Abarth, has unveiled a new limited edition "500 Abarth Opening Edition" with a power boost of 18 kW (25 hp) to 118 kW (160 hp) and a torque figure of 230 Nm courtesy of a tweaked version of the standard 1.4-litre turbo engine.

Mated to a 5-speed gearbox, the Opening Edition can sprint from rest to 100km/h in just 7.4 seconds and on to a top speed of 211 km/h - the standard 500 Abarth does 7.9 seconds and 205 km/h.

The special edition Fiat 500 also boasts front and rear perforated disc brakes, performance brake pads (front only), a special high-flow air filter ‘powered by BMC’, a lower ride height courtesy of special low springs and 17-inch alloy wheels painted in white or titanium and wrapped with sticky 205/40 ZR-rated Pirelli P-Zero Nero performance tyres.

Other exterior upgrades on top of the painted 17-inch alloy wheels includes racy red brake calipers, a grey or white fuel cap and key cover, two exclusive paint colours (Campovolo Grey or Pearlescent White), and an optional red chequered flag decals on the roof (Campovolo Grey only).

Just 100 examples of the Fiat 500 Abarth Opening Edition will be built and they will only be available to the Italian market.
