Mazda6 Australian range and pricing revealed

Mazda has revealed the Australian range and pricing of their new Mazda6 mid-sized car which has just gone on sale in Mazda showrooms Australia-wide.
Available in three versions (sedan, hatch and wagon) and four-trim levels, prices start at $29,740 for the manual Mazda6 'Limited' sedan and up to $46,910 for the automatic Mazda6 Luxury Sports hatch.
Equipped with a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine developing 125 kW at 6000rpm and 226 Nm at 4000rpm, the new model makes a paltry 3 kW more than its 2.3-litre predecessor but claimed fuel economy shows an improvement of 4.5% thus reducing the average quoted fuel consumption to between 8.4L/100km and 8.9L/100km, depending on the model.
