AIMS: Lexus IS-F
October 29th 2007 05:30
The first high performance sports sedan, the IS-F, took centre stage at the Lexus stand at the Australian International Motor Show.
The IS-F ("F" stands for "Flagship" - a designation was first conceived nearly 20 years ago) packs a 5.0-litre V8 engine under the hood, with specially engineered heads fed by a two-stage intake system, that produces 400 plus (300kW) horsepower and more than 350 lb-ft of torque.
The sports sedan will take on the likes of BMW's M3, Mercedes' C55 AMG and Audi's RS4 when it goes on sale next year.
