Official: 2009 Honda Odyssey
October 17th 2008 05:30
The all-new fourth-generation Honda Odyssey people-mover has been unveiled in its entirety back home in Japan before going on sale today (Oct. 17). Looking even sleeker and station-wagon like than its predecessor, Honda designers have utilised "sensual dynamism" to create a people-mover that evokes beauty and strength.
From its low centre of gravity and sharp headlights to its V-shaped line that expresses the sense of speed and strength, the popular minivan's styling is inspired by Honda's latest models including the Accord Euro tourer and FCX Clarity.
Available in two trim levels, the Odyssey is powered by a strong and economical 2.4-litre DOHC i-VTEC engine that develops 126 kW in the base model and 149 kW in the top-of-the-range 'Absolute' variant while boasting strong fuel economy with a combined cycle of 13.2 km / L range.
Designed to provide ample space for seven people, even the comfort of the third row of occupants have been boosted significantly and by up to 40 mm over its predecessor courtesy of a smart floor plan and clever second row seat back that frees up an additional 20 mm of legroom for the knee area.
