Kia Rondo 7

The new Kia Rondo 7 has arrived in Australian showrooms and promises to deliver modern and dynamic styling; seven seats and the potential life-saving technology that is electronic stability program (ESP) as standard plus the versatility and seating positions of an SUV in every model.

Targetted at the crossover buyer who needs a vehicle with the high seating and interior versatility of an SUV; the seating capacity of a people mover or wagon, but always needs a stylish and functional vehicle that's as home mid-week in the inner-city as it is on weekends when it's time for recreation, the Kia Rondo 7 is just the right car.

Kia Rondo 7

Available in three grades - LX with either manual or auto transmission, EX with auto only and EX Limited also with auto only, the Rondo 7 is being launched initially with a 2.0-litre smooth-revving 'Theta' four-cylinder engine mated to either a five-speed manual (in LX trim) or Kia's optional Sport Mode 'intelligent' four-speed Tiptronic-style automatic transmission .

The twin-cam, four-cylinder 2.0-litre 'Theta' petrol engine, with continuously variable valve timing (CVVT), produces 106 kW of power at 6,000rpm and 189 Nm of torque at 4,250rpm.

Combined fuel consumption is 8.4L/100km and 8.6L/100km for the manual and automatic versions respectively. This equates to a full tank of 91RON regular unleaded fuel costing less than $80 with the petrol price at $1.45 per litre - substantially less than the cost of filling the tank on a seven-seat SUV.

Apart from ESP and TCS, the Rondo 7 also boasts dual SRS front airbags on all three models, with side front SRS airbags and full-length SRS curtain airbags standard in the EX Limited model.
