Lexus enters LF-A in 24-hour endurance race

Legitimate testing or a publicity stunt at best?
Luxury Japanese car maker Lexus has announced that they will enter the LF-A concept in the 36th annual Nürburgring 24-hour endurance race in Germany next month. Mother company Toyota has said that any knowledge gained from its participation in the gruelling event will benefit the further development of the LF-A.
To be eligible for the event, the LF-A test mule entered in the race will be required to have the necessary safety modifications such as a roll-cage and separate fuel tank fitted in order to meet the racing regulations.
The LF-A concept is a supercar that is set to go head-to head with high-end Porsches and Ferraris when it is finally released sometime next year.
