Citroen C3 Picasso

French car maker Citroën has released details and a set of images of the C3 Picasso ahead of its launch at this year’s Paris Motor Show.

Featuring a boxy exterior styling of compact front end and a near vertical rear end - something which Citroën claims to be 'breakthrough styling' - the C3 Picasso's dimensions of 4.08 x 1.73 m x 1.62 m makes it small outside and cavernous inside for its five passengers, providing up to 500 litres of boot space even with all five seats in place.

The driver and front passenger will see the road ahead via a unique wide-angle three-part windscreen with slim pillars which offers a commanding view of the road ahead when combined with the high seating position while the rest of the cabin is flooded with light courtesy of the panoramic roof.

The C3 Picasso is available with a total of four engines - two new-generation petrol units (the VTi 95 and VTi 120) and two diesels (the HDi 90 and HDi 110 DPFS). All the engines are frugal on fuel an emit low CO2 emissions, with the HDi 90 unit emitting just 125 g/km. Models fitted with HDi engines carry the Airdream® environmental signature that identifies the Citroën models with the best environmental credentials.

Sales of the new C3 Picasso starts in the first-quarter 2009 - Australian availability is yet to be confirmed.
