August 15th 2008 05:15
Opel has announced the Insignia Sports Tourer will premiere at the upcoming Paris Motor Show in October. The station wagon variant of the highly anticipated Insignia sedan and hatchback features unique sheetmetal from the B-pillars and back.
While the Insignia station wagon retains an identical wheelbase of 2.74 metres with the sedan models, the luggage compartment now offers a sizable volume of 540 litres courtesy of an increase in the overall length (80 mm) of the vehicle to 4.91 metres.
The Sports Tourer will go on sale in European markets in 2009 with a choice of seven different powerplants - alongside the existing line-up of three petrol and two diesel units, a new turbo and turbo diesel will make its debut in this variant.
Available with all-wheel or front-wheel drive and a choice of manual or automatic six-speed transmissions, the Opel Insignia Sports Tourer will be appealing to customers for both its design and variety.
