Lotus' new entry level 2-Eleven
March 10th 2008 05:30
The original Lotus 2-Eleven with a supercharged 1.8-litre engine developing 188kW was launched at last year's Geneva Motor Show and also made an appearance at the Australian International Motor Show in Sydney in October 2007.
Almost a year after its launch, Lotus has introduced a new entry level 2-Eleven to the Lotus range of pure-bred sports cars. Sporting a 1.8-litre naturally aspirated engine developing 141kW from the Elise R, the lesser-powered 2-Eleven still springs from rest to 100 km/h in roughly 4.5 seconds courtesy of its 720kg lightweight body.
The new entry-level model also comes with a list of options to enhance driving dynamics and performance on a racetrack. They include - two limited slip differentials (LSD), 70L bag fuel tank and a removable competition steering wheel (FIA approved), a carbon fibre tonneau cover, four piston front brakes and either an ‘Aero’ or ‘Sport’ accessories pack.
No word yet on whether this model will be available for Aussie enthusiasts but prices start from €34,695 in Europe.
