The Peugeot 308 RC Z coupe based on the 308 range has received the production green-light from the French car maker and will go on sale in early 2010 after a final production version makes an appearance at next year's Frankfurt Motor Show.

The Audi TT and Nissan 350Z rival is likely receive an updated version of the 308’s current 1.6-litre turbo engine with power boosted to around 160 kW (218 hp) as an entry-level model with higher-performance variants also expected.

Boasting a raked profile and styling with muscular bulging wheel fenders, the light-weight chassis of 1200kg gives the 308 RC Z coupe all the right ingredients to be a sporty driver's car.
