Mercedes-Benz E 280 Sports Edition

For a limited time only, Mercedes-Benz Australia is making a special edition of the popular E-class saloon available with an array of options fitted as standard.

The E 280 Sports Edition features the following equipment as standard: electric sunroof, metallic paint, COMAND system with MP3 compatibility and satellite navigation. Of course, this special model would not be dubbed a 'Sports Edition' without a series of sporty exterior and interior upgrades including 18-inch alloy wheels, dual chrome exhausts, double-stitched leather sport seats, steering-wheel mounted paddle shifts and sports suspension. All E 280 Sports Editions feature the 7G-TRONIC seven speed automatic transmission.

All this extra kit amounts to a substantial saving in excess of $11,000.

The E 280 Sports Edition is available in saloon or estate variants and with petrol or diesel engines. The 3.0-litre petrol V6 engine develops 170 kW and 300Nm and the E 280 CDI is powered by a 140 kW/440 Nm 3.0-litre diesel mill.

Prices start from $98,000 for the E 280 Sports Edition Saloon and up to $106,000 for the Mercedes-Benz E 280 CDI Sports Edition Estate.

Official: Kia Forte revealed

July 3rd 2008 06:30
Kia Forte

Last week, we brought you two teaser images of the upcoming Kia Cerato hatchback replacement called Forte by the Korean car maker and the initial response was very positive indeed.

Kia has now released a set of images showing off the Forte in all its glory for the first time and it is safe to say that this new model is the most inspirational looking vehicle to roll of Kia's production lines. Following the same design language as the Kia Koup Concept, the Forte features sharp styling cues penned by former Audi TT and Volkswagen Beetle designer Peter Schreyer, that would rival many of its Japanese and European competitors.

Kia Forte

Sure, you could criticise the new Forte for ripping the front-end design from a Honda Civic/Accord Euro but that is beside the point - just take one look at the rest of the current Kia range and you will soon realise that the new Forte is truly a masterpiece.
