Lexus IS 250

Lexus Australia has sold its 10,000th IS 250 sedan, 32 months after the current model went on sale, making it the most in-demand Lexus of all time in Australia.

At the heart of all IS 250 models is a 2.5-litre quad-cam V6 producing 153 kW of power and 252 Nm of torque which also delivers exceptional fuel economy of 9.1 litres/100kms in the automatic transmission. Combined with various trim levels and an extensive list of standard feature (including the world's first twin-chamberfront passenger SRS airbags), the IS 250 has claimed Australia’s Best Prestige Car for two years in a row (2006, 2007) at the Australia's Best Car Awards.

And the popularity of the model shows no signs of abating either for a number of reasons - the IS 250 Prestige variant is unaffected by the new Luxury Car Tax with a RRP of $56,990 and of course, there is also the exciting high performance IS F sedan due in Australia later this year.

The IS F, which has been completely re-engineered, will feature a newly developed 5.0-litre quad-cam V8 engine and a high performance eight-speed sequential gearbox.
