The 2009 Mazda BT-50 is the most powerful, comfortable Mazda pick-up truck ever and went on sale in Australia this month with 29 models across five drivetrains and three bodystyles, all boasting significant mechanical and styling upgrades, and improvements to interior comfort and ergonomics.
BT-50 features new generation 2.5- and 3.0-litre turbo diesel engines with advanced common-rail direct injection for superb performance, excellent fuel economy - 8.3- and 9.2-litres/100km respectively and environmental friendliness - Euro IV compliant for minimal tailpipe emissions. Built on a rugged ladder frame chassis that can operate fully loaded on or off-road and strengthened by a unique overlapped, cross-braced design, its high rigidity delivers outstanding handling, ride, load carrying and safety.
Mazda Managing Director Doug Dickson is confident the new Mazda BT-50 will be a major force in the cut-throat working-ute market.
"The new BT-50's split personality is its greatest asset. It is equally adept as a weekday workhorse as it is a weekend family transport. That's sure to be a big hit with hard-working, hard-playing Australians." he said.
"Buyers will be attracted to the BT-50's rugged good looks, tough-as-nails reputation and robust, economical diesel engines,
"They will also appreciate the car-like interior which is comfortable, well-appointed and treats utility buyers like first-class citizens." he added.

Mazda Australia expects to sell about 10,000 Mazda BT-50s per annum.
