The GSR variants will feature either a conventional five-speed manual transmission of the new Twin Clutch Sports Shift Transmission (SS-T) plus body-hugging Recaro seats and sporty 18-inch ENKEI alloy wheels as standard.

The flagship MR version is $12,200 dearer than the entry-level GSR but gets a whole list of exclusive features such as Bilstein and Eibach suspension components, an upgraded Brembo brake system, 18-inch BBS light-weight wheels, leather heated Recaro front seats, a multi communication system and a premium Rockford Fosgate sound system.

Going by these figures, the entry-level Evo X GSR undercuts its main competitor, the Subaru WRX STI by $500. However, the flagship MR will cost $6,700 more than the Subaru WRX STI Spec-R.

Australian Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X pricing:

Evo X GSR - $59,490
Evo X GSR SS-T - $64,490
Evo X MR - $71,690
