Subaru Liberty Exiga

A year after the debut of the Subaru Exiga people-mover in Japan comes the announcement of a local launch for the Australian market as part of the new generation Liberty line-up.

Completing Subaru’s mid-size Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive wagon line-up, the Liberty Exiga - as it will be known here - is a family-friendly, fuel-efficient and versatile people-mover with six seats targeted at big families.

Subaru Liberty Exiga

Priced from $37,490 for the Liberty Exiga 2.5 and stretching to $41,990 for the 2.5i Premium, both models come with a responsive four-cylinder 2.5-litre horizontally opposed boxer engine that produces 123 kW of power and 229 Nm of torque. Mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT), the Liberty Exiga boasts outstanding fuel economy - just 8.6L/100 kms and emits 202 grams per km of carbon dioxide in the combined cycle.

“Liberty Exiga is a versatile family wagon that adds a new dimension to our mid-size wagon line-up.

“It means we’ve now got Liberty Exiga for families needing the flexibility of a six-seat cabin, we’ve got five-seat normally aspirated and turbocharged Liberty wagons and for those with a more recreational focus, we’ve got the Outback range.

“With the same safety levels across all these vehicles, it simply comes down to a lifestyle choice and with the depth in our medium wagon range we can meet the needs of the vast majority of customers,”
said Nick Senior, Managing Director, Subaru Australia.

Underlining Liberty Exiga’s family appeal is a DVD entertainment system accessible to second and third-row passengers. The Liberty Exiga 2.5i Premium comes with all the features found in the standard model and adds leather trim, satellite navigation, reversing camera, Bluetooth compatibility, eight-way power driver and front passenger seats, and 17-inch alloy wheels.
