The Stig drives Nissan GT-R

Sure, the Nissan GT-R's Nurburgring lap-time is impressive, but funnily enough, the lap time that everyone's been waiting for is how fast the Godzilla can lap around the Top Gear test track with 'tame racing driver', the Stig, behind the wheel.

Well, the wait is over. Finally.

A Nissan GT-R was apparently flown from Japan to the UK for the sole purpose of giving the Stig a chance to lap it around the Top Gear test track and the time does not disappoint. But does it embarrass the likes of Porsche's 911 Turbo yet again? What about exotics such as Ferrari and Lamborghini?

Find out by watching the 10-minute video clip.

Porsche PDK gearbox

Porsche's recently facelifted 997 911 range features so many upgrades that despite the minor styling revisions, you could be forgiven for thinking it was a new generation model altogether.

Headlining the list of mechanical changes is the introduction of Porsche's own dual clutch gearbox called the Doppelkupplung, or PDK, for short. Boasting seven-speeds and a faster shift time than Michael Schumacher could ever pull off, the PDK-equipped 911 Carrera S is said to lap the Nurburgring significantly faster than the manual transmission version.

Click on the video to get a detailed explanation on how these sophisticated dual-clutch gearboxes work.

Ferrari 430 Scuderia Michael Schumacher

One of the great perks of being a 'VIP' of a particular product or brand means special invites/offers, freebies and what not. When it comes to cars, you might get the odd free floor mats, key chain and umbrella thrown in with your purchase of a Toyota Camry but when you are a VIP of supercar maker Ferrari, you get invited for a spin around the Fiorano racetrack in a 430 Scuderia with no other than seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher behind the driver's seat
