2009 Ford Focus RS vs Mk1 Focus RS

UK motoring journal, CAR magazine has revisited the Mk1 Ford Focus RS with road test editor Chris Chilton taking turns to hop behind the wheel with the man behind both RS models, Jost Captio from the Ford RS team.

The two then compare the old and new RS models as well as revealing some technical info on the new Ford Focus RS which made its international debut at the recent British International Motor Show in London. Click on the video player below to see them both in action.

Ford Australia has no plans to import this model to our shores but has plans to build our own 'RS' model based on the Ford Focus XR5. Read more about the 2009 Ford Focus here.

Demonstrated here for the first time, you can hear the launch control working before the XR6T launches itself into the horizon with venom.
