Holden has launched a facelifted Epica sedan for the 2009 model year complete with a few styling tweaks, a new diesel engine and the addition of several extra features/equipment.

The 2009 Holden Epica features a new front grille (without the central louvre), rear fascia and alloy wheels while the biggest mechanical change is the introduction of an economical 2.0-litre diesel engine. Available in both CDX and CDXi variants, the new diesel engine is mated to a 6T40 six-speed automatic transmission and develops 110 kW of power and 320 Nm torque. Fuel economy is impressive with an average consumption of 7.6L/100km.

The 115 kW 2.5-litre six-cylinder petrol engine remains unchanged.

Holden has also upgraded the Epica’s list of safety features which now includes ESP and six airbags as standard across the range.

Prices for the Epica CDX 2.5-litre petrol (6-speed auto) starts from $27,990 and up to $32,990 for the CDXi 2.0-litre diesel (6-speed auto). The optional leather pack adds $2,000.

Holden Calais V 60th Anniversary Special Edition

Holden's ongoing 60th anniversary celebrations have spawned a new VE Calais V 60th Anniversary Special Edition with exclusive interior and exterior features such as unique interior trim and 19-inch Super Sport Alloy wheels.

Other features exclusive to the Calais V 60th Anniversary Special Edition includes:

- Electric sunroof
- Alloy faced pedals
- Chrome surround exterior door handles
- Silver highlights on leather steering wheel spokes
- ‘60th anniversary’ floor mats
- ‘60th anniversary’ rear badge

GM Holden’s Director of Marketing, Philip Brook said: “The Calais V 60th Anniversary Special Edition is the perfect vehicle for the individual or family looking for something extra special, along with the drive capabilities, safety and performance of the award winning VE Commodore.”

A palette of three exclusive metallic colours are available: Karma (teal), Evoke (dark grey) and Phantom (black). The VE Calais V 60th Anniversary Special Edition is on sale now from $56,790 for the V6 automatic and $61,790 for the V8 automatic.
