Mercedes-Benz has released a fantastic gallery of hi-res SL 65 AMG Black Series images to spice up our desktops.

Available to peruse and download - in various formats - at your leisure over at the recently launched dedicated micro-site, the gallery features six stunning images of the flagship performance vehicle in the Mercedes-Benz line-up which also includes a customised commercial jet on the backdrop of an airstrip.

The SL 65 AMG Black Series is an exclusive high(er) performance version of the standard SL 65 AMG roadster and features an AMG-engineered 6.0-litre 'Bi-Turbo' V12 developing a whopping 486 kW (661 hp) and an electronically limited 1000 Nm of torque between 2200 and 4200 rpm.

It will replace the soon to be discontinued Mercedes McLaren SLR as the halo performance vehicle in the Mercedes range.

The latest in line of Mercedes-Benz's high-performance Black Series of vehicles is the flagship SL 65 AMG Black Series - the successor to the SLR as the supercar of the Mercedes range.

One look at the SL 65 AMG Black Series and you know it means business with its heavily flared guards, vented bonnet and aggressive bodykit making it look fast when standing still while the 486 kW 6.0-litre 'Bi-Turbo' V12 is so powerful that it gives the driver the feeling of warped time when the throttle is applied with a heavy right foot.




This beautifully shot video features the monstrous SL 65 AMG Black Series in its natural habitat - on a racetrack - and it is truly a sight, and sound, to behold.

A most worthy successor to the soon-to-be-discontinued SLR.
